Apple’s Updated Operating System – Mac OS X Lion
Mac OS X Lion is Apple’s latest operating system for Mac’s. Sporting over 250 new features, it’s been a new favorite on our Mac’s here at iTelework, and at $30, it’s a steal. There’s a lot of functionality packed into this new realease, but here are just the top three reasons to upgrade:
1. Fullscreen Apps
Having the ability to make almost any app fullscreen allows you to maximize the screen real-estate of your Mac. This is especially helpful on Macbook Air’s and Macbook Pro’s, where screen size comes at a premium. Fullscreen mode also helps focus on the subject at hand and increases one’s ability to concentrate. Our favorite full-screen apps are Mail and Safari.
2. Mission Control
Launched with a simple three-finger flip upwards, Mission Control is a completely redesigned exposé. It not only shows the windows you have open grouped by program, but shows the spaces that are open too. This has brought exposé from being a simple window switcher to a complete bird’s eye view of all that’s going on, on your Mac. On top of all this, everything updates in real-time to show exactly what’s happening at any given time.
3. Launchpad
Launchpad opens from anywhere on your mac with a four-fingered pinch and displays every application installed on your Mac. Organized like the app icons on your iPhone or iPod touch, it makes launching apps a snap. Apps can also be grouped into folders for further organization.
